Claque Theatre Impro Course - Models for Creating Instant Theatre
Friday, August 26, 2011 at 6:00 PM - Monday, August 29, 2011 at 3:00 PM (BST)
Tonbridge, United Kingdom
What is a story? What makes people laugh? What holds an audience’s interest and why? From 'The Goons' and 'Monty Python' to 'The Office' and 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' comedy has always depended on improvisation as inspiration.
This three-day course is about unlocking doors for becoming more creative, rediscovering the imaginative world of childhood and discovering new techniques that would help any storyteller, writer, dramatist or poet, making us more receptive and responsive in life.
This course is open to anyone over the age of eighteen. No previous experience or knowledge of performance is necessary and you may well be surprised by the creative person it unlocks. You will be training with just 19 others using the excellent facilities provided by Tonbridge School. The course will be great fun and will culminate with a public improvised performance.
For a full programme and about the trainer, please visit our events page.
The course will be very sociable. The price for residential students includes full board and lodge and access to Tonbridge School's attractive grounds and facilities. For people who would like to join the 3-day course but do not require overnight stay, the price includes lunch and supper.
Residential: £240 (Members) £390 (Non-members)
Day rate: £120 (Members) £240 (Non-members)

When & Where
Claque galvanises communities through performance. For the past 30 years, we have been bringing together large numbers of people to produce total theatre experiences unique to the communities they serve, with plays that both celebrate and challenge. We also run group improvisation and educational role play in schools.
